Louise Balint-Kurti
I’m Louise Balint-Kurti, a London-based drama professional and actress. I have been working as a script reader, editor and producer of new stage writing for fifteen years.

About Me
I entered into the world of script development as a freelance script reader for BBC Serials and the New Writing Initiative (now BBC Writersroom), The Old Vic Theatre, Momentum Pictures and Impact Pictures
After a few years’ reading I became Literary Manager and Producer for Open Page (c/o Stellar Network), a monthly new writing event hosted at the BFI in London. In 2013 I took over as Literary Manager and Co-Producer for SundaySurgery, a monthly script development workshop, which gives writers the opportunity to see their work performed live and receive peer feedback. I also chaired the feedback discussions and helped develop a professional network for the writers and associate artistes.
At the same time, I have produced and co-produced plays in and around the London Fringe. I worked with Lance Nielsen’s Gutted Film and Theatre Company for several years (Stratford Circus, Bridewell Theatre, Old Red Lion, Jackson’s Lane, Hackney Empire Bullion Room ) and Tik-sho-ret Theatre (Hampstead Theatre Studio, Oval Theatre, New End).
As part of SundaySurgery, I produced rehearsed-readings of several scripts and co-produced Gloria Williams’ Bullet Hole at The Etcetera Theatre, as well as helping her develop the script for a very successful run at The Park Theatre.
